Man missing after falling overboard from installation in North Sea

A rescue mission has been launched after a man fell overboard from an offshore platform in the North Sea. Two oil supply vessels and a coastguard helicopter and

aeroplane are part of the search, around 100 miles south-east off the Aberdeen coast. The alarm was first sounded at around 9pm on Sunday night. A spokeswoman

for Aberdeen Coastguard told The Press and Journal: ‘We were called to assist police at about 9pm following reports of a man who had fallen overboard from an offshore

installation. ‘We had a helicopter as well as lifeboat vessels dispatched. The incident is still ongoing and crews are still out at sea.’ Local police have
